Marine Electrician
The Marine Electrician requires you to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Marine AC/DC Electrical Systems. Your work must be of the highest international standards to meet Classification Society Requirements of ABS, Lloyds, and the US Coast Guard. Maintaining flexibility and safety while performing multiple duties.
Specific responsibility and authority:
- Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to work with electrical, navigational, internal communications and emergency systems.
- Provide test stand support which includes troubleshooting electrical and control systems and factory acceptance testing
- Assist manufacturing with design related assembly issues
- Prepare interconnect drawings for integrated systems
- Work closely with Project Managers to determine resource requirements and allocation for job tasks.
- Work and communicate effectively with your coworkers, management, vendors, vessel crew and contractors.
Education and/or Experience:
- Knowledge on yacht Electrical system
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as Electrician (Maritime is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of motors and motor controls, industrial logic controls, generators, PLC programming and switch gear.
- Experience with tool/equipment maintenance/upkeep
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to repair marine equipment on site under adverse conditions.
- Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no guidance, self-motivated, initiative driven.
- Must be physically fit enough to board ships and tugs at sea and in port.
***Required to board vessels in shipyards, dock settings, and at anchor.
- Strong English/Spanish Speaking
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $62,000.00 - $67,000.00 Per Year
