Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Pipe Welders for projects located in Newport News, VA. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $50/hour based on experience and skill level plus $120/per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:
- All position fillet and butt welds using the SMAW process
- Heating Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of commercial/ naval experience
- Ability to fuse inserts and weld carbon steel stainless steel and copper nickel pipe using the SMAW and GTAW
- Ability to mirror weld using the SMAW and GTAW processes
- Experience working in physically demanding environments shipboard sub-assemblies
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry
- Ability to properly use fillet gauges butt gauges and a 6" scale
