Marine Superintendent, Tankers - SEACOR Holdings Inc.

Position Title: Marine Superintendent

Reports To: Fleet Manager

Core Hours: 0800 - 1700 Monday through Friday and additional as required

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Positions Supervised: Ship staff and contractors as required

Required Qualifications:

Education: Maritime Degree or equivalent

Experience: Previously sailed in a licensed Deck Officer position

Languages: English

Skills/Software: Working experience with Excel, Word and Outlook

Traits: Ability to travel as necessary for projects, ability to work well with others, self-starter, proactive, flexible with work schedule, well organized

Preferred Qualifications:

Licenses/Certifications: Chief Mate

Skills/Software: NS-Enterprise

Requirements (Knowledge, Skill and Abilities):

• A desire to drive continuous improvement in self and others
• Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision-making skills
• Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner
• Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
• Preferably education and experience as a marine operator
• Knowledge of operations for the vessel operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

Treats Health, Safety and Environment as Top Priority

Assists the Director of Operations and Fleet Managers in all marine aspects of vessel operation, including:

‎Ensures our vessels are compliant with all regulatory initiatives including:
o Port and Flag state
o Classification societies
o Company and terminal policies

• A member of the Emergency Response Team

• Partners with the Director of Operations on planning and exercising modifications or legislative upgrades as required

• Assist and participate on Incident investigations

• Takes an active role in recruitment / selection of Masters / Chief Mate and will recommend promotions to both Chief Mate and Master

• Training orientation of Masters / Chief Mate - process & systems

• Monitoring voyage performance - speed & consumptions and verifying the ships are meeting requirements

• Assists in general commercial issues including customer support

• Responsible for ensuring assigned vessels meet stakeholder requirements, including:
o Federal and applicable State/Port Authorities
o Customer's ship terminal policies
o Company policies
o Coding invoices and receipts when necessary
o Travel in support of ship operations; convenes safety meetings during vessel visits, addressing issues important to management
o Promotes a professional relationship with the officers and crew

• Perform such other tasks, duties and responsibilities as may be required or directed by Director of Operations
