Job Summary and Qualifications
This position manages the Cardiovascular Service Line within the El Paso market, including some or all of the following departments: Cardiovascular Recovery, Invasive Cardiovascular Services, Non-Invasive Cardiovascular & Vascular Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology Services, and the Cardiovascular Market Float Pool within Las Palmas & Del Sol Medical Centers. Ensures the integration of all elements into a service line that supports the healthcare system efficiently and effectively.
- You will provide direct oversight of the Cardiovascular Service Line for the HCA El Paso Market
- You will, in collaboration with Division CVSL, conduct strategic planning and policy-setting activities for the service line and other areas of impact within the system.
- You will be responsible for the implementation of quality initiatives related to patient safety and performance improvement within the cardiovascular service line, including but not limited to the Society for Thoracic Surgeons database, Society for Chest Pain Center accreditation, American College of Cardiology PCI database and American Heart Association’s Get-With-the-Guidelines.
- You will provide mentorship guidance to facility C.V. leaders to develop a just culture of quality and service excellence.
- You will conduct strategic planning and policy-setting activities for cardiac rehabilitation, the post-acute product line, and other areas of impact within the system.
- You will assist Facility Leaders with the preparation of departmental budgets, projecting reasonable activity levels and expenses required to achieve approved net margin for work unit(s).
- You will participate and influence all capital projects as they relate to the service line.
- You will identify trends within the industry/community, providing feedback with recommendations for remaining strategically placed within the market.
- You will actively engage in physician relations activities to ensure support of the healthcare system and to ascertain and address needs and opportunities, including but not limited to the Cardiovascular Surgery Morbidity and Mortality Conference and the American College of Cardiology NCDR.
- You will oversee the marketing and product development for all aspects of the cardiovascular programs.
- You will identify, research, and develop additional services that promote additional revenue opportunities.
- You are responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of performance improvement and CQI activities.
- You will supervise and participate in the annual review process, goal setting, and helping CV Leaders reach their goals.
- You will be responsible for the implementation of quality initiatives related to patient care and safe practices, including but not limited to the AMI core measure.
- You will participate in the division and lead local market supply chain meetings as appropriate for CV Services.
- You will consistently attend facility, quality, and CV Services meetings.
- You will collaborate, develop, and participate in the marketing of the Cardiovascular Service Line, including educational program development, external advertising, and working in alliance with local and regional programs.
- You will develop plans, in conjunction with Divisional AVP and local executive leaders, for capital resources required to maintain quality care within the CV Service line.
- You will develop, monitor, appraise, and analyze budgetary goals and outcomes within the CV Service line.
- You will control Processes related to Human Resources, including, but not limited to, hiring, evaluating, terminating, counseling, coaching, and staff development.
- You will seek and take on new assignments/skills/responsibilities, viewing these as growth and development opportunities
- You will anticipate future requirements to maintain expertise in the field and actively seek education to fulfill those requirements.
- You will demonstrate high ethical standards in business practices. Actively support organizational goals and changes as they occur. Communicate goals in a positive, supportive manner.
- You will integrate facility operations into a system that provides an appropriate continuum of care, both clinically and geographically.
- You will oversee market standardization of processes and policies related to the CV service line.
- You will implement process improvement: promote the systematic assessment and improvement of performance through continuous assessment.
- You will implement quality assessment in all procedural areas that include regulatory readiness and adherence to registry guidelines for quality optimization.
- You will, in collaboration with PSG, Division Leaders, and Local Leaders, create and implement scheduling guidelines and efficiencies in the facility’s procedural areas.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Required
- Masters of Healthcare Administration - Preferred Or Masters Business Administration – Preferred Or Masters of Science Nursing – Preferred
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Required – One of the Following: Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Texas or compact state Or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS-CCI) Or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES-CCI) Or Registered Technologists in Radiography (RT (R)-ARRT)
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
- Management experience of 2 years in a clinical setting – Required
- Management experience of 5 years in a cardiovascular setting - Preferred
- SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the Cardiovascular Service Line, including invasive and non-invasive procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to plan, organize, and supervise assigned personnel.
- Must have the ability to evaluate, listen, and render judgment with fairness and objectivity.
- Must be able to coordinate several assignments at one time.
