Summary This position is located at the Regional Marketing Office, Warfighter & Family Readiness (WFR), Joint Region Marianas (JRM), Guam. The mission of JRM WFR is to provide the highest quality programs and services to the military community through self-sustainment across all quality of life programs. Responsibilities Major duties and responsibilities are summarized below. Purpose of this position is to provide administrative support associated with planning, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive marketing program including public relations, advertising, research, and social media. Works with and assists other marketing assistants with the coordination of MWR publicity through news letters, newspapers, brochures, posters, graphic designs, and other media sources. Works in production cutting, trimming, printing, and delivery of flyers, magazines and other print media. Keeps materials stocked for the marketing office. Submits purchase requests for materials/supplies. May create "Welcome Aboard" packets, and update event calendar & electronic marquees. May assist in preparation of draft articles for newspapers and newsletters. Assists in researching resources available to provide cost-effective and profitable programs, events, promotions, and activities. Coordinates with facility managers to facilitate marketing functions including but not limited to advertising, promotions, public relations, company relations and product development. May communicate with external creative service providers and gather materials needed to complete projects and obtain quotes for printed and related products. Performs general clerical duties to include but not limited to: Photocopying, faxing, scanning, emailing, mailing and filing. Assists with the set up and coordination of photo and video productions and meetings. Attends scheduled events located at various sites. Minimum of one year clerical experience that equipped the applicant with the necessary skills required in to perform the duties of the position which involves graphics, marketing and sales, information and communication technologies. Ability to quickly learn and use new software programs. Ability to solve practical problems. Possess strong organizational skills and close attention to detail. Must be able to communicate well, both orally and in writing. Familiarity with graphic design programs to create artwork for print. Skill using Apple Mac, Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop, Intel, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and possess a good eye for layout and typography would be an advantage. A good understanding of publishing and print production process is essential for this role as is the ability to work tight deadlines. This position involves some physical effect with respect to carrying boxes and lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted and 50 pounds assisted. Incumbent will also be subject to duties that may involve working outside and may be exposed to the elements when performing field assignments during special events. Must possess a valid state driver license, as travel to other sites and facilities, pick up and delivery of printed materials, etc., are required within the normal scope of duties. Required to work an uncommon tour of duty that includes weekends, nights, and holidays. Education *SEE QUALIFICATIONS Additional Information Some positions have special requirements.
