MM holds valid state and municipal operating licenses and strives to exceed compliance standards at the highest level. Beginning in 2019, with less than ten employees, our business has grown rapidly to a team of 180 and welcomes new employees who are interested in a career in the cannabis industry. As a Marijuana Distributor and Retail Facility Manager, our operations involve welcoming customers 21 years of age into our facilities to view and purchase high-quality marijuana products. A team of staff all work together to provide customers with top notch customer service and cannabis knowledge to aid them in their cannabis experience.
Job Title: Marketing Assistant
Role
The Marketing Assistant role supports The Fire Station’s Chief Marketing Officer and marketing department with a range of marketing activities including community outreach, event coordination, campaign development, proofreading, and general project management. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, creative, and eager to grow their marketing skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Frequency | Description |
Monthly | Coordinate The Fire Station’s sponsored vendor placement/slotting opportunities, providing vendors with opportunities to pay to have their brand in front of targeted audiences through specified media. Manage a content calendar for placements, working with the sales team on setting up appropriate special offers, placing vendor content in identified marketing media, and tracking programs overall effectiveness. |
Monthly | Coordinate TFS special events, including establishing a budget, securing volunteers, working with vendors, assembling promotional timelines, and attending events as appropriate. |
Weekly | Assist with coordinating The Fire Station’s outreach and social equity efforts by fielding requests for donations and sponsorships, reviewing and approving store requests, and making recommendations as to what initiatives The Fire Station should pursue, aligning recommendations with the company’s core values, mission, and targeted revenues. |
Monthly | Coordinate company giveaways and contests by creating or reviewing guidelines, tracking participation, and facilitating the selection of winners. |
Daily | Work closely with other members of the marketing team to create compelling campaigns and materials that drive customer engagement, brand satisfaction, and generate revenue. |
As Needed | Plan, organize and facilitate brand photoshoots, strategically aligning captured content with company needs for upcoming promotions or events. |
As Needed | Curate blog content highlighting TFS outreach activities and other philanthropic efforts and assist with making website updates. |
Weekly | Assist with distributing marketing materials to The Fire Station’s locations. |
Weekly | Work with the Chief Marketing Officer to analyze the results of marketing projects using data and feedback to drive the strategy of future activities. |
As Needed | Work with third-party providers and vendors to deliver or create elements that cannot be produced in-house. |
As needed | Provide general administrative assistance as needed to the CMO and other members of the marketing team |
As Needed | Other duties as assigned |
Required Skills/Abilities

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or related field
- At least one year full-time experience or equivalent working in a marketing role
- Experience coordinating or working events
- Experience working within marketing software or creative programs such as a content management system (CMS), Google Suite, Canva, Adobe, or similar
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Located within Marquette County
Work Environment
- State & Municipal Law - TFS/MMI operates in full compliance with all rules and regulations enforced by the State of Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA). Further, TFS/MMI operates in full compliance with the rules and regulations of each municipality they are located within. To operate in compliance with such rules and regulations, employees are required to follow all policies created and enforced by and within TFS/MMI facilities.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age

Work Schedule
- 40 hours a week
- Monday - Friday with occasional nights and weekends

Salary/Wage & Benefits
- Salary range $35,000-$40,000
Benefits: Non Exempt Salary employees are eligible for benefits on the 90th of employment.
