The Housing & Workforce Solutions - Workforce Development Division seeks two creative and enthusiastic Marketing Communications Interns to join their team. The interns will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of effective communication outreach that align with their organizational goals and values.
The interns will work closely with the Communications Manager and other team members to create engaging content for various channels, such as social media, newsletters, press releases, websites, and blogs. Interns will also assist in organizing and executing events, campaigns, and projects that promote our brand and increase our visibility.
The internship opportunities are in-person with a work week consisting of approximately 20 hours per week with flexibility granted around school obligations. The selected candidates can anticipate an internship spanning six months in length.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Interns will learn a variety of real world communications including, but not limited to:
- Creating effective and engaging content for a county department
- Problem solving abilities
- Organizational skills that help to plan and execute projects
- Teamwork & networking skills that will show how to collaborate in a professional setting
- Analyzing the effectiveness of communications strategies
- Industry knowledge of marketing and communications efforts
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average : 2.5 GPA required. Proof of most current unofficial/official transcript with cumulative GPA must be provided at time of application .
Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled/attending school at an accredited college or university, in a Bachelor's degree program or preparing to transfer to a Bachelor's program during the entire duration of the internship.
Areas of Study : Communications, Marketing, Journalism or similar; Public or Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Studies or similar.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant software and tools
- Familiar with social media platforms, content management systems, email marketing tools, and analytics tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Creative and critical thinking skills
- Attention to detail and quality
- Interest in learning new skills and technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A keen eye for detail and design
- A passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of the latest trends
- Knowledge of best practices in digital marketing and communications
