The Marketing and Strategic Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies to promote our brand, mission, and innovations in AI and autonomy safety. You will play a pivotal role in building awareness, educating key stakeholders, and driving engagement across a range of audiences, including industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, potential customers, and the general public.
What you’ll be doing
Strategic Communications & Branding:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that align with the company’s vision and business goals.
- Position the company as a thought leader in AI and autonomy that's safe through strategic messaging and storytelling.
- Craft and maintain a consistent brand voice across all external communications, ensuring alignment with our values and mission.
- Identify key narratives around AI and autonomy safety and translate these into engaging content.
Content Development & Execution:
- Lead the creation of high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content (articles, whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, social media posts, press releases, and more) that resonates with target audiences.
- Collaborate with technical experts to translate complex AI and autonomy safety topics into accessible language for diverse audiences.
- Manage and maintain the company's online presence, including website content, social media channels, and other digital platforms.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and nurture relationships with industry influencers, partners, media, and thought leaders.
- Develop targeted campaigns to engage with stakeholders such as government bodies, academic institutions, AI practitioners, and civil society groups.
- Coordinate media outreach, including drafting press materials and handling media inquiries.
Digital Marketing & Social Media:
- Oversee and manage the company’s digital marketing initiatives, including social media channels (LinkedIn, etc.), email campaigns, and paid advertising.
- Monitor and analyze key metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and optimize for better engagement and visibility.
- Stay on top of emerging trends in digital marketing and safety to ensure the company’s messaging remains innovative and competitive.
Event & Conference Management:
- Plan and execute company participation in industry events, conferences, webinars, and trade shows, from speaking engagements to sponsorships.
- Organize and support in-house or virtual events, including product launches, thought leadership panels, and webinars.
- Facilitate internal and external communications for such events, ensuring seamless logistics and effective promotion.
What you’ll bring
- 8 years of experience in marketing, public relations, or strategic communications, with a strong focus on technology, autonomy, AI, safety or related fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex topics into clear and engaging content.
- Strong understanding of AI, autonomy, and tech industry trends; familiarity with autonomy and AI safety is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful integrated marketing campaigns.
- Expertise in digital marketing tools (SEO, SEM, email marketing, analytics, social media platforms, etc.).
- Experience managing external PR agencies, content creators, and other stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Advanced degrees or certifications in a relevant field are a plus.
- Passion for AI, autonomy, and safe technology.
- Background or strong interest in National Security or Defense.
- Creative thinker with a strategic mindset.
- Strong leadership abilities and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
