About the Position:
The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at George Mason University invites applications for aMarketing Coordinator, to provide support to the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing by managing marketing resources, implementing systems to efficiently and effectively address college marketing needs, and generating interest and enrollment in degree programs.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews marketing requests from academic program partners and manages those projects from start to finish. This includes communicating project requirements to writers, designers, and other professionals, scheduling meetings with academic partners to discuss project requirements, coordinating materials reviews, distributing completed materials, and corresponding with faculty and other stakeholders in a professional manner;
- Manages all marketing asset management systems in Sharepoint and Airtable, keeping marketing toolkit up to date, and ensuring projects are properly archived;
- Develops new templates and processes for academic program partners, to promote consistency and cohesion of the CEHD brand across all college marketing materials;
- Collaborates with the Communications Coordinator, developing creative assets to be placed in CEHD social media channels and email communication channels;
- Collaborates with the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing, developing individualized strategies for CEHD academic program partners that maximize their reach within the constraints of existing budgets, dovetailing with flagship marketing campaigns;
- Provides as-needed assistance to the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing on flagship campaigns, tracking analytics, building stakeholder presentations, and other ad hoc projects; and
- Builds, maintains, and optimizes partnerships with external marketing and communications resources (graphic designers, writers, video producers) and central partners within George Mason University, and tracks vendor budgets.
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively provide information in both written and verbal communications;
- Self-starter with the ability to assess a situation and develop a recommended course of action;
- Experience using a variety of software tools and ability to learn new technology independently;
- Experience in marketing project management;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Time management and teamwork skills;
- Customer service skills;
- Must be comfortable working with culturally and ethnically diverse populations of all ages, and be able to handle sensitive and/or confidential information and situations; and
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with digital marketing technology;
- Experience in higher education marketing; and
- Strong professional development orientation
