FBC members have unlimited access to the club fleet but do not own them and never incur any service or storage fees. Reservations are made through a proprietary online system. Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Marketing and Events Intern is designed to support the Freedom Boat Club team in coordinating marketing materials, social media postings, and events such as trade shows, to attract and educate potential members. Additionally, this position will assist with planning and executing member socials and member educational seminars to enhance the membership experience.
Part-time: 15-25 hours per week
Specific Accountabilities
- Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing, Membership Executive, and Operations Staff in promoting Freedom Boat Club of Wilmington through social media posts and in-person events like trade shows, and member socials.
- Responsible for collecting, creating, and scheduling content for social media postings across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Ensure social content includes an appropriate mix of mediums, such as static photos, Facebook and Instagram stories, Instagram reels, Facebook live, and more.
- Maintain Freedom Boat Club brand standards in all endeavors while also curating a local identity unique to Wilmington.
- Spearhead event planning and day of execution for member socials, member educational seminars, and trade shows.
- Interact with members, obtain feedback, assess interests, and recommend possible topics and locations for future events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a registered undergraduate or graduate degree-seeking student.
- Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA to be eligible for, and continue, employment with Freedom Boat Club.
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing or Communications.
- Professional online presence.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms.
- Ability to work occasional weekend days for events and trade shows.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills,
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and complete project details in full.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (50 lbs.).

Compensation: $13 per hour
Start Date: Flexible with necessary start by 12/01/2024
