Reporting to the Associate Director of Integrated Marketing and Special Events, the Marketing Manager for Student Life and University Centers drives the design and execution of all integrated marketing campaigns and communication efforts for Student Life and University Centers. This role involves working across various groups to lead the strategy, development, execution, and assessment of integrated marketing and communications plans to align with the University’s strategic priorities.
A central function of the Marketing Manager is to provide high-quality content and strategic planning for a variety of marketing initiatives. This includes working closely with partners and marketing team members to develop effective copy and design for print, email, web, social media, video, and other channels. This person will be focused on providing integrated and innovative experiences to our audiences and will provide consistent and measurable reporting on a regular cadence.
This position is an in-person role based in Fairfield University’s downtown location (1720 Post Road) and will require regular trips to campus for partner collaboration.
Responsibilities
+ Develop creative/innovative brand integration strategies to support partner goals with a focus on compelling marketing campaigns as well as informational, promotional, and public relations projects.
+ Oversee day-to-day marketing and communications activities for partners.
+ Oversee production schedules and communication timelines for various projects; keeping track of all budgets and deliverables.
+ Manage the development of collateral, promotion plans for signature University events.
+ Define and track the key measurement and/or ROI areas for all efforts.
+ Manage the creation and development of content for collateral, press releases, e-communications, website, social media, and other related marketing/communication efforts.
+ Maintain good working relationships with members of internal departments.
+ Provide consistent and measurable reporting on a 30-day and yearly cadence.
+ Participate in the professional development of the department. This involves:
+ Promoting efficiency and courtesy throughout the University community
+ Participating in departmental/staff meetings as necessary
+ Serving as a responsible committee representative as requested
+ Communicating effectively with supervisor concerning pertinent matters
+ Promote safe and secure working conditions. This involves:
+ Promoting the proper utilization of equipment, tools, and materials
+ Notifying supervisor immediately regarding any unsafe working conditions
+ Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field.
+ A minimum of 2-3 years of marketing, project management and/or non-profit experience, including project management and strategy development.
+ Excellent client/project management and organizational skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong editing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
+ The ability to effectively present ideas.
+ Experience managing the development of both digital and print materials.
+ Detail-oriented, with high standards for brand, messaging and quality.
+ Ability to work with a wide variety of constituents across campus.
+ Access to transportation from downtown Fairfield to North Benson Campus
Preferred Qualifications
+ Good sense for visual appeal of marketing materials, design, and photography
+ Proactive problem-solving skills
+ Experience working in higher education, nonprofit, or a highly matrixed organization
