Responsibilities:
The Marketing and Outreach Specialist is responsible for general marketing project and community
outreach activities throughout the organization. Responsibilities of this position include acting as
the primary account manager for the marketing team, with respect to the creation, tracking, and
resolution of marketing projects. Additionally this position focuses on engaging in community
outreach efforts in a designated service area. This individual may also attend other community
meetings and events, and shall assist with various ancillary marketing functions, such as
graphic/web design, organizational training, coordinating/participating in media interviews, event
planning, and other public relations activities.
Detailed Responsibilities/Functional Job Description:
- Works as an active member of the NVHC marketing team.
- Works collaboratively and seamlessly with operational staff and managers to promote NVHC
services and mobile programs. - Researches and assists in developing plans for expanding NVHC community presence as well as
issues of concern to NVHC and target populations. - Promotes NVHC services via community outreach efforts such as health fairs, public speaking
events, collateral distribution, and active involvement with non-profit committees, group
sessions and meetings. - Develops and coordinates educational and outreach programs.
- Cultivates strategic partnerships with community organizations in order to better serve Nevada
Health Centers’ clients and the community. - Provides exceptional customer service, using AIDET, to both internal and external customers.
- Creates, manages and maintains tracking system for all marketing projects with associated
timelines and accountabilities. - Works collaboratively with various vendors to obtain quotes, place orders, tracking shipping
and delivery to appropriate locations. - Maintains ongoing communication with internal customers related to the status of projects,
delivery and distribution of products, etc. - Coordinates translation services as needed for various marketing projects.
- Manages invoice tracking and approvals for the marketing department and contributes to the
annual budgeting processes. - Maintains inventory of marketing collateral, giveaways and resources, and ensures all NVHC
locations have ample stock of available marketing materials, including supplies for outreach
booths at special events. - Direct oversight of mailing projects and all related functions.
- Collecting, centralizing and archiving all photography release forms.
- Coordinates logistics, refreshments, decorations, communication, and other details related to
NVHC special events, as well as outreach opportunities. - Performs media interviews when appropriate, assists with finding media interview resources
within the organization and helps prepare talking points as needed. - Represents NVHC, articulating our mission and vision, and increases awareness of services
provided. - As needed, engages in graphic and web design work to support marketing department
functions. - Any other activities as assigned.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the essential functions of family medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, dental,
telemedicine, WIC services and mobile program services. - Knowledge of or the capability to learn about federally qualified community health centers.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Exceptional customer service leadership skills.
- Detail oriented and ability to handle multiple and shifting priorities.
- Proven organizational and prioritization skills necessary to manage multiple projects within
tight deadlines, giving attention to detail. - Process oriented and the ability to evaluate, design and implement efficient and effective
processes. - Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent ability to problem solve, deescalate/resolve conflict and perform service recovery.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in multi-disciplinary environment.
- Creative, independent team player capable of working within an organizational structure.
- Excellent data entry, oral and written communication skills. Mathematical, PC literacy,
keyboard, and problem solving skills. - Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work in a consistent manner.
- Ability to closely manage timelines and projects to ensure timely completion of projects.
Desired Education or Certifications Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or two (2) years’ experience in the field of marketing, healthcare,
community outreach or related field is required. - Bilingual abilities (Spanish) preferred but not required.
