Job Summary:
The Marketing Research Analyst will be responsiblefor gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to help the company understandmarket trends, customer behavior, and the competitive landscape. This roleinvolves digging into trending keywords, survey responses, social mediamentions, research, sales data and more to inform and support the marketing andsales teams. As this is a new position within the company, the analyst willdesign research methodologies and a reporting framework to support strategicdecision-making. With a particular focus on the food industry, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record makinga measurable business impact within high-performing marketing teams. Thisposition reports into the SVP of Marketing and Communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection, Analysis and Insight: Master a variety of in-house tools, design and implement surveys, conduct focus groups, and leverage external research and data collection methods to gather relevant market, sales and customer information to inform business strategies, sales forecasting and product offerings. Gather quality data frames and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
·Datacollection tools: Gather and manage data from an array of sources,including surveys, social media platforms, keyword trends, sales data, andaudience insights. Use SurveyMonkey, Google Trends, SEMrush, Power BI, Shopify, Byzzer, and Klavyio- amongother tools.
- Competitive Analysis: Conduct competitive analysis by tracking competitor marketing strategies, pricing, and product offerings in the food seasoning market.
- Trend Analysis: Analyze social media trends and online reviews to identify emerging consumer preferences and potential market opportunities in the food seasoning industry.
- Market Segmentation: Segment the market based on demographic, psychographic, and behavioral data to identify target customer groups for food seasonings.
- Customer Journey Mapping: Map out customer journeys to understand pain points and opportunities for improving the customer experience with food seasoning and meat smoking products.
- Ingredient Research: Investigate new and trending ingredients and flavors that could be incorporated into innovative seasoning products.
·Data Visualization and Reporting: Succinctly summarize, share andpresent findings to variety of leaders at various levels within the company todemonstrate ‘why this data matters’.This rolerequires strong data visualization to create and use data dashboards or dataanalytics suites to convey important findings. Experience with Power BI,including Python and R scripts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and sales teams to align research findings with business objectives.
- Budget Management: Manage budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources
What we’re looking for:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in market research or a related field, preferably in the food industry.
- Skills:
oProficiency in statisticalsoftware (e.g., Python NumPy, SciPy and Pandas; R Tidyverse)
oStrong analytical and critical thinking skills
oExcellent written and verbal communication skills- Abilityto interpret complex data and present findings clearly
oCreation of analytics testing Pan (AB Testing, OneArmed Bandit, etc.)
oPresentation creation
oKnowledge of market research methodologies andtechniques
oTrack record of demonstrating ROI and businessimpact
oAttention to detail and strong organizational skills
oTool knowledge of Power BI,Shopify, Byzzer, Survey Monkey, Klavyio, Google Analytics, Meta channels andother marketing platforms
oAbility to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic teamenvironment and collaborate with various departments
oExperience in grocery, CPG (Consumer PackagedGoods), or related food sectors.
oStrong understanding of retail dynamics, consumerbehavior, and food industry trends.
oCreativity mixed with strong execution.
