Position Summary
Plans and manages projects of low to moderate complexity and confidentiality. Contributes to business results that align with marketing strategy. Provides tactical support for strategic marketing and communication plans. Responsible for one or more of the following marketing functions or disciplines: advertising, a large product/business line/strategic initiative, customer/target marketing, promotional events, media relations, brand development or content development.
- Primary responsibilities include: responsible for marketing copywriting for auto, home and life materials; collaborates with creative services, social and digital teams to concept and write social posts and other digital marketing pieces to support traditional print collaterals.
- The hiring manager will also consider candidates for Sr. Marketing Specialist (F11). Level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Determines objectives and scope for assigned projects and develops project plans including expenses, tasks, deliverables, resources, assignments, and dependencies. Consults on change management impacts and recommends appropriate action. Works with business area and Centers of Excellence to coordinate tasks as required. Monitors and communicates progress; revises plan as necessary.
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external business partners.
Assists in developing and implementing plans to introduce new products, services and tools as assigned. Creates proposals, promotional plans and creative materials. Assists in developing new marketing and communication programs as needed.
Performs in-depth research and analysis related to assigned projects and issues. Tracks, measures and reports on the impact of marketing and communications plans. Implements changes as appropriate.
Develops and maintains marketing and communication materials, according to business and product development needs.
Identifies and pursues external media opportunities through feature lists, influencer outreach, print, digital, TV and radio interviews. Develop creative, original storytelling material for pitching/placement. Assists in preparing high-quality written materials for use by various stakeholders including the media, customers, agents and other influencers. Assists with media audits to track development and brand impact. Researches new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities.
Assists in developing effective corporate brand, communications and media buy strategies. Participates in the creation of ERIE's sponsorship and local marketing event strategy. Provides support to ERIE's strategic marketing and product management teams.
In conjunction with Strategic Marketing leader and business line, responds to marketing and communications needs and opportunities. Helps to identify effective solutions.

Qualifications
The minimum education and experience requirements are as follows:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, organizational leadership or business and two years experience in marketing, communications, or related field required; or
Associate's degree in marketing, communications, organizational leadership or business and four years experience in marketing, communications, or related field required; or
High school diploma or GED and six years experience in marketing, communications, or related field required. Experience performing on project teams required.
Knowledge of marketing and communications concepts and processes required. Knowledge of current marketing and communication research and trends, project management processes, organizational change management concepts preferred. General Insurance certification, or related designation, preferred.
