Responsibilities
As an Estimator/Project Manager, your key responsibility will be to prepare budgets, estimates, submittals, and oversee projects through execution including attending meetings, completing project documentation, schedules, and submitting billings.
A. Project Start-Up
- Using available historical data to determine productivity and pricing rates
- Perform accurate and thorough quality take-offs and estimates using current software in accordance with company standards
- Conduct site visits as part of the estimating process
- Review estimates with the Masonry Operations Manager and various Wilhelm staff
- Manage, forecast, and analyze construction costs, exposures, and profits until project is completed
- Corresponds, communicates, updates, and maintains a good business relation with owner, architect, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members
B. Project Build
- Facilitate the subcontractor bid process and ensure vendor interface for superior bid coverage
- Assume an active role in the bidding and negotiations for the project
- Track and expedite Wilhelm long-lead material and equipment
- Ensure all subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders are drafted and executed in a timely fashion
- Resolve day-to-day issues that may arise to ensure a timely, safe, and profitable project
- Participate as necessary in transfer of project to field staff

Preferred Requirements
- Experience in masonry is a plus, but not required
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field with a minimum of 2-5 years in commercial construction
- Advanced skill level with MS Excel
- Intermediate skill level with MS Word and Outlook/Exchange
- Ability to learn various estimating/project management software programs
