BWXT is currently seeking a Master Black Belt for its Lynchburg, VA location!
Job Description/Duties:
- Mentor Master Black Belts, Black Belts, Green Belts, and Yellow Belts through certification.
- Provide independent reviews for Black Belt certifications.
- Provide feedback during dry runs and attend project report-outs.
- Lead highly visible and complex process improvement projects.
- Design, develop, and deliver training to support the LSS deployment.
- Coordinate with site leadership to identify and prioritize targeted areas of opportunity for eliminating waste and reducing variation.
- Facilitate strategic planning and project selection sessions with site management.
- Motivate and direct cross-functional teams to desired results through skillful application of the LSS principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Provide technical guidance and support.
- Estimate soft/hard benefits (COPQ) for a variety of process improvement projects.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher degree in engineering, science, business, or related field.
- Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- Demonstrable experience as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt with a strong track record.
- Must be a talented facilitator with experience leading a variety of teams and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Successful leadership experience coaching, teaching, and mentoring others.
- Demonstrable change management expertise and ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels.
- Ability to drive change, be results oriented, possess strong business acumen and a strong technical aptitude.
- Functional experience in multiple disciplines such as engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and be team oriented.
- Ability to report to work On Site at an assigned office located in Lynchburg, VA.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
Benefits:
The Master Black Belt will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, paid winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, dental, vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.
The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $128,000 and $189,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
