The Monarch Master Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing service calls that will require highly skilled and expert level repairs on industrial diesel engines. These repairs will require extensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and the candidate must be able to work independently, exhibit leadership skills, and mentor inexperienced technicians.
Wages
:Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $45.08 - $51.29
Responsibilities
:Essential duties and responsibilities of a Monarch Master Diesel Technician include the following.
· This position requires advanced knowledge of diesel or gas engines, electrical and electronics.
· Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
· Work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
· Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (EST, SPI) accurately and timely.
· Advanced understanding of products, benefits (Should this be procedures?), and applications.
· Remove and install parts, disassemble, and assemble components, and test and adjust
· Assemble various engines with minimal supervision
· Communicate effectively with customers on diagnostics and engine repairs
· Train and mentor inexperienced Service Technicians (i.e., Levels I & II)
· Travel up to 10% for training and overnight field work.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
:· Two-year certificate from accredited college or diesel technician program. (preferred)
· 7-10 years' experience as a diesel mechanic; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must have experience in Diesel Engine Technology.
· Must supply his/her own mechanic tools and have general knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools.
· Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
· Must be able to work in and support a “TEAM” environment.
· Must be willing to travel as support for field service projects, as they dictate.
· Understanding and compliance with Customer Safety Rules and Company Policies.
· Must be able to install, set up and troubleshoot and repair engine control systems.
· Must have in-depth knowledge of Diesel systems and products, including Perkins EST.
· Must be competent with full diagnostics and tear down and reassembly, as well as removal and installation of all diesel engines in OEM machinery.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
· Ability to obtain a CDL Driver’s License
· Excellent customer service skills
· Leadership and the ability to mentorship inexperienced Service Technicians
· Must be able and willing to travel as support for field service projects as needed
· Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions
Physical Demands
· Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
· Ability to bend, balance, stoop, and kneel.
· Ability to use repetitive motion with hand tools as well as phone, computer, keyboard, and mouse.
· Ability to see, hear, and talk with necessary individuals who this role will partner with.
· Ability to travel by car or plane for extended periods of time.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
