Huntsman is seeking a Master Planner supporting the Performance Products Division located in The Woodlands, Texas.
Job Scope
Owner of the short-term supply plan and order fulfillment process for assigned product families. Manage the balance of supply and demand within the 0 to 3- month time horizon. Work closely with production schedulers at assigned plants by assigning priorities and responding to production, raw material, and packaging constraints. Work daily in SAP to ensure system production schedules, demand signals, and inventory levels remains as accurate as possible. Serve as a key member of the supply chain team providing subject matter expertise, key tactical guidance, and strategic input to the entire division.
In summary, as the Master Planner, you will:
- Conduct a daily review of orders that are we are unable to confirm, provide guidance for acceptance with shipping date or decision to reject or push out order to customer service team
- Review the forecast uploaded into SAP for accuracy. Frequently monitor the demand signal (planned independent requirements, sales orders, and intercompany POs) within SAP that drives our production and supply plan. Add, delete, and move demand elements to help balance supply and demand within SAP.
- Review and approve the production schedule with production schedulers. Provide guidance and direction for in-period adjustments to the production schedule. On ad hoc basis, provide highly coordinated and frequent changes to the production schedule and notices of available supply when unexpected interruptions (weather events, larger unplanned plant or unit down-time, sudden loss or reduction of key raw materials) occur
- Monitor aggregate product family inventories against established targets. Provide feedback to S&OP Managers for future target revisions. Monitor product level inventories for obsolete, expiring, and excess stock. Coordinate with plants and SC Analysts to take corrective actions. Monitor inventory levels of key raw materials and intermediates to support normal plant and fulfillment operations.
- When supply is tight or plants are oversold, provide policing function to ensure that total regional demand does not exceed established allocation limits. Advice other regions to move or cancel orders in excess of established monthly allocations.
- Periodically review and update SAP setting and associated work processes to continually improve our team’s performance, improve productivity, and
- Participate in projects and represent the supply chain function and your product family in various meetings and business development opportunities
Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required shift staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
- Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Works collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain and 3+ years of relevant experience.
Skills and knowledge
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, & Microsoft.
- Knowledge of Material Resource Planning (MRP) in SAP (or similar ERP system).
- Operational experience in SAP (ideally) or other major ERP system
- Understands concepts for planning and controlling the flow of products and services into, through and out of an organization, from suppliers, the supply chain organization, manufacturing to customers.
- Execution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, work effectively in team environment, excellent internal and external customer focus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in chemical industry supply / demand planning is highly desirable.
- APICS: CPIM – Certified Supply Chain Professional – CSCP.
- Prior experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, order fulfillment, material master data updates, inventory management, or other related supply chain activities is highly desired.
- Operational experience in Supply Chain management strongly preferred or a business-related field (e.g Customer Service, Procurement, Operations, Production).
