Position Summary:
As a Master Technician, you're not just a mechanic; you're a mentor and a beacon of expertise. You provide guidance to your fellow shop technicians, setting the standard for diagnostic work, repairs, and procedures. Your role reinforces our customers' trust in our services as their go-to source for repair and maintenance, ensuring their safety on the road. This is an exempt position with commission eligibility under our progressive flat rate system.
Performance Objectives:
- Expertly diagnose and repair vehicles within a reasonable time frame, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
- Take personal responsibility for the quality, timeliness, and results of your work.
- Create comprehensive work plans after a thorough assessment of issues.
- Conduct diagnostic tests on diesel engines, vehicle systems, electronics, drivetrains, and aftertreatment systems, providing effective solutions.
- Thoroughly inspect all vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhaust.
- Repair or replace vehicle systems and components with precision.
- Test drive repaired vehicles to evaluate their performance.
- Provide comprehensive training to shop members on various vehicle maintenance and repair tasks.
- Collaborate in the development of key practices and policies.

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and creating documents, such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and written correspondence.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Completion of a formal diesel technician training program or equivalent dealership/manufacturer training is required.
- Preferred Dealership or Manufacturer Master Diesel Technician certification.
- Minimum of 10 years of diesel vehicle repair experience.
- A current valid driver's license is required, with a CDL preferred.
- Experience working effectively with team members across various functional roles.
Physical Requirements:
You should be comfortable with:
- Extended periods of standing or walking.
- Working in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, automotive shop conditions, and varying temperatures.
- Lifting objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
