Description of Position
The Program Director is responsible for the overall management of the Master of Arts in Counseling: Addiction Counseling practicum/internship, including course content and delivery, faculty and program development, and student practicum/Internship coordination. The Program Director reports to the Director of the School of Behavioral and Applied Sciences.
This position will work remote, but with the possibility to be in the office at least once a week.

Responsibilities:- Responsible for leadership and coordination of academic activities of the MA Arts in Counseling: Addiction Counseling program.
- Assigns, develops, and trains didactic and practicum faculty across the program.
- Maintains quality assurance over curriculum for MAC program
- Provides oversight to the MAC advisor/community placement liaison in establishing new and/or maintaining contracts between TUW and practicum sites for various locations.
- Establishes and maintains confidential records for the MAC Program including documentation required for BBS or CACREP.
- Serves as the primary contact for the program ensuring compliance with all regulatory Agencies
- Conducts research as needed for the MAC program relative to Practicum/Internship sites Placements.
- Conducts periodic program reviews of MAC program
- Maintains current and relevant scholarship coupled with participation in community service
- Teaches 1-2 course per term and motivates students to achieve learning outcomes in interactive class discussions
- Teaches practicum/internship courses as needed
- Engages with an academically and culturally diverse student
- Attends conferences and meetings as applicable, (e.g., WSCUC, CACREP, and/or other professional development).
- Serves as a governing member of the Academic Council and other TUW academic committees
- Works directly with the SBAS Director on a wide range of operational and administrative tasks
- Other duties as assigned by the School Director, Program Director, and /or Provost
Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in Counseling or related field with a specialization in Addiction Counseling
- State license in a clinical Counseling field and/or certification in Addiction Counseling
- 2-3 years of online teaching experience at the graduate level.
- 2-3 years of successful clinical experience as a addictions/substance abuse counselor or clinical mental health counselor
- Interpersonal skills include the ability to coalesce diverse constituents around common purposes, goals, and actions
- Strong professional communication skills
- Academic leadership skills and organization skills, including the ability to manage diverse tasks
- Strong commitment to academic integrity
- Vision and creativity with respect to program design
- Experience with CACREP accreditation, BBS educational requirements and various state licensing standards
