Intertek is searching for a Material Control Clerk I / Driver to join our Transportation Technologyteam in our San Antonio, Texas office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the Shipping/Receiving department!
The Material Control Clerk I / Driver is responsible for transporting inventory such as lubricants, engine parts, office supplies and other material in support of company operations. Responsible for maintaining all records related to the receiving and distribution functions, coordinating pickup and deliveries with the Transportation department. Operates lift truck as needed].

Schedule: M-F, 11:00AM -7:00PM
What you'll do:
- Transport's lubricants, engine parts and other inventory material.
- Maintains records on inventory receipt, shipment, transfer, location or disposal as required using manual or automated control system.
- Conveys lubricants, engine parts and other inventory to appropriate storage by and lift truck or motor vehicle.
- Assists in maintaining the cleanliness, safe work conditions and orderliness of assigned work and storage areas.
- Performs daily inspection of vehicles assigned to material control which includes van, trucks and lift trucks.
- Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
- Verify and report all noted item quantity discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- To carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and to exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Requires high school diploma or GED education.
- 1+ year's previous warehouse or parts inventory experience.
- 1+ year's data entry experience required.
- Knowledge of computerized requisition systems
- Must be able to work M-F, 11:00 AM -7:00 PM
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record required and be proficient in lift truck operation.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 49 pounds.
- Legible handwriting and basic reading, writing and math skills necessary.
- Will be exposed to chemicals and substances requiring special handling precautions and good personal hygiene.
