We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Material Control Coordinator to join our dynamic team in St. Louis, Missouri.
Position Overview: The Material Control Coordinator will be responsible for managing and overseeing inventory, purchasing, and the coordination of shipments and deliveries, among other responsibilities. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple tasks and ensure seamless operations within the supply chain. The Material Control Coordinator will report directly to the Controller and will have three direct reports: the Warehouse Manager and two Purchasing Employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer demands.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Oversee the purchasing process, including the selection of suppliers, negotiation of terms, and issuance of purchase orders.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of shipments and deliveries to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Collaborate with logistics providers and internal teams to resolve any shipping or delivery issues.
- Track and report on shipment and delivery performance metrics.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the Warehouse Manager and purchasing personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment, promoting professional development and growth.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare and present regular reports on inventory levels, purchasing activities, and shipment status to the Controller.
- Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize material control processes and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain coordination.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
