ABOUT THE ROLE:
Responsible for providing Material Coordination services to receive, store, issue, and analyze material usage for multi-million dollar substation, communication, and distribution and transmission line projects. This includes handling, receipt and disposition of project materials, completion of project materials analysis, completion of as-built drawings, coordinating material deliveries, requisition of labor and equipment and issue of project materials, maintaining the status of capital project materials stored at the warehouse and storage sites, monitoring and maintaining the status of project materials, reordering of missing materials, assisting with the design of project material storage sites, maintaining project material storage sites and managing returns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes material usage on all substation, distribution, transmission, and communication projects.
- Research questions and solve problems that may arise concerning project materials.
- Submits invoices to Construction Management for contractor shortages and/or in house units.
- Meets with contractors and/or in house units to finalize shortage list.
- Completes final As-built Bill of Material.
- Submits final As-built Bill of Material to the appropriate Engineering unit.
- Receives, identifies, sorts, tags, and stores material in the proper location.
- Issues, tags, and stages material for pick up.
- Maintains the status of inventory at all locations.
- Maintains a clean and organized warehouse and material storage site.
- Assist supervisor with selection, design, and construction of material storage sites.
- Schedules the delivery of project materials with the vendors and/or trucking companies.
- Schedules appropriate manpower and equipment to unload, load or move project materials at various material sites.
- Inspects material before and after the offload for any visual signs of damage or pilferage.
- Inspects material to ensure the material is in accordance with engineering designs and specifications using engineering drawings and/or vendor drawings.
- Checks quantities received against packing slip and purchase order.
- Enters receiving report into the Lawson system.
- Enters discrepancy into the Lawson system if needed.
- Schedules project material pick up with stores personnel and contractor and /or in-house personnel at the appropriate warehouse.
- Runs material pick ticket requests for material.
- Inspects, inventories, and issues all stock and non-stock materials received at the warehouse.
- Ensures that Contractor signs for all project material received at the warehouse.
- Schedules material turnover at the appropriate material site.
- Inspects, inventories, and issues all stock and non-stock materials received at the material site.
- Ensures that Contractor signs for all project material received at the material site.
- Files all paperwork in the appropriate project files.
- Issues materials as needed until project is complete.
- Requisitions material that is missing, damaged or stolen from project site.
- Runs material return reports and delivers it to the contractor at the end of the project.
- Schedules material returns with the store personnel at the appropriate warehouse.
- Inspects, inventories, and returns all excess project materials to the appropriate warehouse.
- Completes material return forms for the appropriate warehouse.
- Any other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma/GED and a minimum of three years of related experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities and work closely with several different parties on large infrastructure projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Forklift certificate required.
- Must have computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Reader.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
