Description:
Coordinates the flow of materials in multiple departments of the factory, including shipping and receiving. Ensures production personnel have the necessary parts to produce the desired products. Oversees inventory accuracy and timeliness, identifies problems, and suggests improvements related to production schedules. Coordinates activities for tactical execution of the production plan within the factory. Works in larger and broader groups, potentially supervising or directing hourly material handlers, stock chasers, or truckers.
Duties:
- Coordinates the procurement, expediting, production, and delivery of materials on time for multiple departments.
- Manages the movement of rejected material back to the source.
- Recommends procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and management.
- Identifies and resolves root causes of material shortages, offering solutions when necessary.
- Utilizes the Master Schedule to create and distribute daily production schedules.
- Processes transactions for inbound and outbound materials.
- Audits material replenishment cycles and accuracy and may assist in creating material replenishment plans.
- Resolves inventory errors and expedites parts to prevent production delays.
- Manages critical shortage reports to ensure part availability.
- Implements engineering release and change management output.
Position Title: Experimental Parts Procurement
Specific Position Requirements: Onsite, 1st shift
Day-to-day:
- Create and edit manufacturing routings.
- Generate programs for laser operations.
- Review manufactured part prints.
- Check production and forecasted inventories.
- Transfer stock between departments.
- Communicate with departments regarding material transfers.
- Liaise with supply management on parts and stock availability.
- Update daily and weekly reports using Excel and MS Office tools.
- Occasionally draw and model simple parts for the shop.
- Troubleshoot part requests from engineers.
- Troubleshoot laser programs and manufacturing routings.
Systems Used:
- SAP
- CREO
- AutoCAD
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Requirements:
- 2-year degree in Pre-Engineering, Manufacturing/Engineering Tech, Computer-Aided Drafting, or related (or equivalent experience).
- Manufacturing experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and data analysis.
- Ability to read 2D drawings/prints.
- Experience with CREO, AutoCAD, SAP, and PowerBI.
- Inventory management knowledge.
Nice to Have:
- 4-year degree.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of sheet metal and fabrication.
- Fluent and comfortable with computers.
