Position Summary
Assists the claims manager or Senior Material Damage Supervisor in overseeing the Material Damage Section and handling material damage claims.
- The successful candidate will supervise a team comprised of Material Damage Personnel throughout the state of WI
- The successful candidate will work a hybrid schedule (3 days in the WI branch office/ 2 days at home)
- The successful candidate will preferably have completed AIC designation, SCLA, I-car, and may be involved in DEI initiatives
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.
Reviews claim correspondence and provides counsel on further action.
Reviews claims in process on a regular basis and takes appropriate follow-up or closing action.
Directs salvage disposal, reviews reports, payments and buyers. Negotiates with salvage auctions and salvage yards on behalf of the company.
Handlesmaterial damage claims complaints and inquiries.
Reviews production results and field office procedures with the Senior Material Damage Supervisor or claims manager to assess adjuster performance and compliance. Implements and monitors related systems and procedures as required.
Maintains working knowledge of material damage adjusters' files.
Assists in handling the maintenance and disposal of company-owned vehicles.
Assists in training branch claims personnel and provides material damage expertise and service to Agents.
Acts on behalf of the Senior Material Damage Supervisor in the incumbent's absence.

Qualifications
High school diploma, or equivalent, required. Two to three years of previous experience in an auto body shop, including writing estimates, or equivalent, required. Three years of previous experience in material damage appraisal work, experience as a Claims Supervisor, or equivalent, required. Some previous supervisory experience preferred. Position requires the incumbent to serve on Catastrophe Team, which may include travel on short notice to other locations for periods in excess of two consecutive weeks. Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
