Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Overtime as needed.
Flexible work schedule does apply to this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, using overhead hoist, lift truck, or by hand.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
• Reviews paperwork on incoming raw material shipments for accuracy, and signs for receipt of delivery.
• Reads work order of follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• May operate band saw to prepare material for machining operations.
• Opens bundles using band cutters or hand tools.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, racks, and shelves.
• Conveys materials to or from storage or worksites to designated area, using hand truck, lift truck, or by hand.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials.
• May band bundles together, using banding machine and clincher.
• Cleans work areas, machines, and equipment, using poom, rags, vacuum and absorbents, to assist machine operators.
• May make simple adjustments or repairs using hand tools.
• Loads and moves barrels, tubs or pans of metal chips, shavings or bar ends from machining operations, using hand truck or lift truck.
• Shovels scrap in spinner bucket or chip hopper, or dumps tubs into Reclamet system.
• Operates Reclamet system or chip spinner to separate cutting oil from scrap.
• Operates centrifugal oil purifier that filters foreign matter from used cutting oil to make oil reusable.
• Responsible for maintaining common cutting oil system.
• Sorts scrap according to type of metal and weighs barrels of scrap metal and ties identification tags on scrap.
• Communicates information regarding requirements for disposal of scrap.
• Performs general plant maintenance such as: floor cleaning and scrubbing using automatic floor scrubber; cleaning light fixtures and bulbs, windows, walls and electrostatic precipitor cells; cleans lunchroom and stocks and maintains vending machines.
• Removes snow from walks, drives, and areas between buildings.
• May perform lawn and grounds maintenance.
• Maintains cleanliness of work areas and grounds.
• Picks up and disposes of garbage and recyclable office paper and cardboard from offices and locations throughout the plant.
• May perform secondary operations such as tumbling, oil removal, deburring, washing, oiling, or sorting parts.
• Maintains work records using time cards, production cards, layouts, etc.
• May assist in shipping by packaging parts, assembling containers, or loading and unloading trucks.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory of a variety of plant supplies such as: oils, pushes, gloves, floor dri, shovels, pooms, hand towels, etc.
• Responsible for opening out-buildings at beginning of shift, and securing at end of shift.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

• Attending to the work assignment instructions or orders of supervisor.
• Starting, stopping, and controlling the actions of machines or equipment for which a course must be steered or which must be guided to control the movement of things or people for a variety of purposes.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months to one year related experience.
• Reasoning Ability: Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
• Mathematical Skills: Add, subtract, multiply and pide all units of measure. Perform the four operations with like common and decimal fractions, Compute ratio, rate, and percent. Draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Language Skills: ability to read safety rules, instructions and methods and procedures in mechanical drawing and layout work; write using proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar; speak utilizing correct English.
Other Skills and Abilities:
• Deal with people in job situations beyond receiving work instructions.
• Perform a variety of duties involving frequent changes of tasks.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
• Must be able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently.
• Must be able to frequently: work with hands and fingers, use depth perception, have clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Must be able to occasionally: kneel, hear, climb, crouch, crawl, focus eyes, maintain body equilipium, identify and distinguish colors, stoop and talk.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
• Will be exposed to loud noise from manufacturing.
• Will occasionally be exposed to weather, hot & cold and wet & humid conditions, electric shock, oils/solvents, and moving mechanical parts.
