This role is Temporary with potential to convert to a full time opportunity | Onsite | $18.00 to $19.00 per hour based on experience
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing stocking, shipping, and receiving activities for materials in a manufacturing warehouse. The Material Handler I stores and distributes materials within the warehouse to the assembly areas ensuring accuracy of material movements as directed by warehouse processes. The Material Handler I reports to the Warehouse Manager who organizes the workflow and priority. An assortment of tools and material handling equipment are used including pallet jacks, forklifts, rolling ladders, handheld scanners, and computers. A series of processes and safety procedures are used to instruct for warehouse operation procedure and safe practice.

This position is responsible for gaining, maintaining, and practicing proficiency in the material handling associated with typical manufacturing activity. The Material Handler I is to coordinate with the Warehouse Manager daily to conduct material movement and maintenance activity in support of production. This position is responsible for following the material handling process and safety procedures related to the assigned work with attention to detail, quality, and safety. In addition to the materials handling work, inventory counts are performed by this individual to verify stock and record accuracy.

Duties:
- Support incoming material stocking, picking and stock maintenance activity including the following:
- Look up stock and purchase order information in the warehouse database to correctly identify incoming or stocked materials.
- Perform receiving and stocking activity for incoming materials.
- Perform material movements within the warehouse as directed by the warehouse manager.
- Perform inventory counts / record corrections as directed by the warehouse manager.
- Use a pick list to identify the correct parts and quantities needed for production jobs and deliver the picks to production areas.
- Accurately record all material movements in the warehouse database.
- Support outgoing material movement including the following:
- Prepare packages for small scale shipments via UPS, Fed-Ex, etc.
- Assist with material movements related to freight shipment.
- Assist with preparation of Bills of Lading, packing slips, packing & crate completion.
- Assist with ensuring shipments are compete and ready to leave the building.
- Support heavy stock movement including the following:
- Safely operate a pallet jack including pushing and pulling large loads, maneuvering them through tight spaces and load placing (training will be provided as needed).
- Safely operate a forklift including forklift operation, load handling, working in tight spaces and around pedestrians (training will be provided as needed).
- Ability to assess and manage for safe handling of bulky / heavy loads.
- Support the warehouse operational processes including the following:
- Understand and practice the safety processes relevant to the warehousing tasks.
- Understand and become proficient in the standard practices used in the warehouse.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and a safe work environment.
- Ensure that all material movements are accurately recorded in the warehouse database.
- 1-2 years of warehouse, material handling, shipping, and receiving experience in a manufacturing work environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Able to read and understand the English language.
- Able to stand and walk in warehouse areas throughout an entire 8-hour shift.
- Good eyesight and physical dexterity.
- Able to lift and carry 30 pounds.
- Have basic computer skills to perform work in emails, electronic documents, and web interfaces.
- Able to read and understand Bills of Materials and Pick Lists.
- Able to perform basic math operations such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Work well with others in a team.
- Open to overtime work as needed.
