Material Handler-Shipping-1st Shift - 1-800-Flowers Family of Brands

Position Summary:



The primary responsibility of this role is constructing pallets according to specified. Physically stack and unstack pallets as required. Maintain a consistent flow of products to the shipping line.



Major responsibilities:

Build pallets according to storage specifications
*

Ensure quality assurance and vendor compliance
*

Physically stack and unstack pallets
*

Support the shipping line with constant flow of product or removal
*

Read SKU numbers and sort product by size/SKU of box to prepare it for loading
* Lift up to 30lbs consistently
*

Perform other duties and tasks as assigned







EDUCATION


* Some high school education required



EXPERIENCE


* Ability to communicate with employees at all levels (peers, leadership & employees).
* Basic reading (English) skills



PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK EFFORT


* Able to perform repetitive tasks (walking, bending, twisting and use of hands, wrists, and arms)
* Perform general housekeeping (breakdown boxes, remove trash, sweep etc
* Light assembly
* Limited lifting
