Job Description- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Days Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Works Every Other Weekend and Works Holidays)
- Location: Feinberg/Galter; FL BS
The Material Service Coordinator III reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsible for completing and recording all shipping and receiving tasks, including researching and reporting on products in progress through the system.
Responsibilities:
- Loads and unloads delivery vehicles. Verifies that “items received” are equal to items on the vendor, carrier, and hospital records. Reports discrepancies to carrier and designated hospital department(s). Confirms that goods are not damaged, and reports damage if found
- Completes and submits shipping and receiving documentation. Files and pulls documents as needed
- Distributes goods as needed to requesters, obtaining and completing appropriate documents
- Researchers, explains and resolves complaints and inquiries. Explains basic services of receiving to users. Explains departmental services and requesting procedures as a dispatcher
- Prepares products for shipment
- Uses power equipment, photocopier, telephone, automated inventory/purchasing system(s), and other equipment. Maintains safe and cost-effective practice
- Traces lost orders. Explains services, recommends alternatives, refers callers to appropriate resource as necessary
- Adjust Linen Room Par Levels and communicate adjustments to Laundry Vendor daily
- Pick up and deliver gray & blue Doctor’s coats to the appropriate Doctor Locker Room.
- Documents all coats sent out for cleaning, and all clean coats received from laundry.
- Performs related duties as assigned
Required:
- High School Diploma or acceptable equivalent
- Physical Demand Requirement:
- Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 70 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
