About the Job
The Materials Handler (MH) is responsible for handling materials involved with assembly of collection supply packages and fulfillment of CND's test collection supply requests by physician practice customers, study sites, and the sales team. The MH will develop a thorough knowledge of all CND supplies related to specimen collection and work to fulfill orders with attention to detail and the correct components, including documenting assembly tasks, quality control, and other applicable regulatory requirements. The Materials Handler will work within CND's logistics application and other software environments to help fulfill customer, study site, and sales team requests and serve as a primary assembler of all approved test collection supplies in accordance with standard protocols. The MH will follow compliance practices within the scope of work. The MH will maintain a close working relationship with R&D, Clinical laboratory, and Clinical Services staff to perform the necessary duties. This position works under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, with ongoing collaboration of applicable departmental leaders including Quality and Research and Development for study collection supply assembly. In all cases, the Materials Handler follows standard operating procedures, work instructions and policies to remain compliant with all applicable standards of operation as needed (e.g., ISO, GMP).
Job Responsibilities:
Test Collection supply Activities
- Working within CND's laboratory facility, serve as a primary assembler and trainer for all commercial collection supply packages; ensure all collection supply contents including operational, marketing, and education materials are included as specified
- Manage and execute all collection supply shipments to physician practice, study site, and sales team customers
- Assemble collection supply supplies and other packages according to standard operating procedures including applicable quality control checks and practices, including GMP and ISO compliance standards.
- Keep close track of collection supply supply and demand by using CND's logistics application and other software environments.
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Services to ensure customer needs are met and collection supply inventories are managed effectively.
- Collaborate closely with the R&D team to ensure clinical study needs for collection supplies are met.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales team to ensure sales staff has adequate and controlled "trunk stocks" of collection supplies to be provided to customers.
- Perform regular audits and verification that all collection supplies are shipped in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all shipping regulations (US and international).
General Inventory & Supply Activities
- Interface with CND suppliers regarding orders, supplies and requirements
- Ensure sufficient supply of reagents and materials for ongoing specimen processing, customer collection supply inventory, and other materials
- Maintain accurate supply order history
- Work with management to help negotiate best price, term, conditions, and settlements (as applicable)
- Complete cost analyses and recommend improvements and alternatives
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established purchasing and accounting policies
- Communicate both internally and externally regarding inventory or collection supply matters
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience in inventory management required; specific experience in production, logistics, SIO, GMP, or related environment preferred
- Self-motivated with competent interpersonal skills

Education, Certifications & Licensures:
- High school diploma required (or equivalent)
- Associates or bachelor's degree preferred

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- May have exposure to fumes and bio-hazardous materials in the laboratory environment
