Woodharbor Custom Cabinetry is hiring a Materials Manager as a Full-Time job in Mason City, Iowa.
As a Materials Manager, you will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to Woodharbor's production needs and customer requirements. The Materials Manager will work regularly with multiple departments within Woodharbor to ensure compliance and the highest-quality materials for production.
Woodharbor manufactures four cabinetry product lines from a state-of-the-art facility located in Mason City, Iowa. Woodharbor Custom Framed and Woodharbor Custom Frameless Cabinetry, custom cabinetry lines and Breeze Framed Cabinetry by Woodharbor and Breeze Frameless Cabinetry by Woodharbor, a semi-custom cabinet line for the more value-conscious homeowner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage buyers, receiving, warehousing, and the selection of suppliers; ensure compliance with company policies and accurate inventory systems.
- Negotiate delivery, quality, price, and sales conditions while analyzing market trends, order quantities, and inventory levels to optimize stock and cash flow.
- Monitor inventory trends, adjust order points, oversee cycle counts, and manage surplus material disposal to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with production, marketing, and engineering teams to qualify materials and suppliers; research supply sources, specifications, and transportation needs.
- Prepare monthly reports on hazardous material usage and transportation costs; oversee special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- College degree in business with coursework in purchasing and inventory control; SCMP and APICS certifications are beneficial.
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, production planning, supply chain, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability in designing inventory management practices, including receiving, inspection, cycle counts, and forecasting.
- Skilled in vendor management, negotiation, and implementing vendor-managed inventory programs to ensure on-time delivery and performance.
- Highly analytical with strong Excel skills; experienced in initiating and driving projects independently while demonstrating effective time management and communication.
