About the Job
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct the HEBU Materials and Warehousing staff to meet established objectives
- Manage cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy
- Provide world class strategic planning and sourcing options
- Identify, select and manage key strategic suppliers for best in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Manage key vendor performance metrics in support of overall strategies
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and improvement initiatives
- Generate and maintain all formal, legal purchasing agreements
- Manage key purchasing/warehouse department metrics including:
- Managing critical min/max items in inventory
- Inventory turns
- Annual material cost reductions
- Vendor delivery and quality performance
- Develop and manage department annual budget
- Manage the purchasing and warehousing group staffing requirements, performance reviews, development and improvement initiatives
- Travel to vendor locations and other site(s) as required, including international travel
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, some international travel may be required
- Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed boots) as required
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Office/cubicle environment
- Shop environment including assembly, welding, overhead cranes, and fork trucks
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Materials Management. Master’s degree is highly preferred
- Ten years of supply chain management experience
- Minimum of five years of department management experience
- Knowledgeable with the application of Lean/Six Sigma concepts
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Outstanding customer service approach
- Experience in formal quality assurance system setting (ISO or equivalent)
- Strong negotiation and management skills; effective in influencing others
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must maintain a valid passport
