Materials Operations Manager
Vaco is conducting a confidential search for a highly skilled Materials Operations Manager on behalf of a prominent company located in the Greater Irvine Area
This key leadership role provides an opportunity to oversee and optimize material management processes within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
The selected candidate will ensure that all material-related activities are aligned with the company’s operational goals and customer expectations.
Compensation:
The role offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $150,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with department heads to assess material requirements and supply needs across the organization.
Manage the procurement process by purchasing materials and supplies that meet specified criteria and quality standards.
Oversee and refine procedures for receiving and warehousing materials to ensure efficient operations.
Direct the distribution of materials throughout the organization, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to various departments.
Monitor and control inventory levels to maintain an optimal balance, particularly in emergency situations.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of materials management professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, including negotiating terms to secure the best possible agreements.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of procurement activities, material quantities, and specifications.
Assist in the development of accurate forecasts to anticipate future material needs and support strategic planning.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in materials management, with a strong background in overseeing procurement, receiving, and distribution activities.
Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and inventory control systems.
Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and aligning material supply with organizational demands.
Familiarity with GlobalShop or similar inventory management systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong organizational and leadership abilities.
A strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
A Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
