To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight
Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Broad materials & processes support for metallic materials including additive manufacturing (AM), forging, casting, forming, extrusion, plating, coating, welding, brazing, anodization, and passivation.Support design, analysis, materials selection, process development, and M&P qualification for space vehicles Review production drawings for large complex assemblies systematically, documenting the review to the established requirementsResponsible for M&P signatory release of engineering drawings for parts and assembliesLead and coordinate internal and external M&P efforts for additive manufacturing, including the development of material specifications, process specifications, supplier qualifications, part qualifications, mechanical testing, and customer-facing updatesSupport the development of internal engineering and quality processes to standardize and accelerate material evaluation, implementation, and qualificationCollaborate with design engineers to ensure part designs are compatible with AM processesWork with cross-functional teams within the Lunar organization and other business unitsQualifications:Minimum of a B.S
degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.5+ Years of demonstrated AM M&P Engineering experience on a production flight or space programExperience with AM aluminum and/or titanium for aerospace applicationsDemonstrated experience developing and executing part qualification test plans for AM components Familiarity with standard methods for testing mechanical properties of aerospace-grade materials, particularly AM materialsKnowledge of industry standards for material data analysis (e.g. MMPDS, MAPTIS, CMH-17) Experience organizing and managing materials and process-related data in a company-accessible databaseAbility to travel to support development and testing opportunities at other Blue Origin and vendor sites.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.Must be a U.S
