About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
The successful candidate shall have a broad background in Materials Science with core expertise in structure-property relationships, physical and mechanical behavior of materials and materials characterization. The candidate should be well-versed in materials testing and characterization such as mechanical testing (including fracture mechanics-based testing), corrosion/cracking testing, electron microscopy.
What you will do
In this role the candidate will be conducting experimental and analytical research to identify materials technology opportunities and solutions with high-impact applications to support businesses. The candidate is expected to make individual contributions while participating on cross-functional teams to build productive collaborations both internally and externally with academic and research organizations.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree or Master’s degree (with 5+ years of R&D experience) in materials science/metallurgy, mechanical engineering, or related fields
Preferred Qualification
Experience in environmental assisted cracking, materials mechanics, corrosion, and electrochemistry is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills' Excellent oral and written communication skills
A track record of external publications and presentations, and a desire to continue to interact with the external technical community.
Post-doctoral research experience is preferred but not required
