- Highschool or GED preferred
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing machine shop shipping environment preferred
- Minimum of 6 months experience in an administration role
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Materials Specialist I at our City of Industry, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Good communication skills & knowledge of basic shop math
- Able to read, write and understand basic instructions in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Dyes parts according to procurement specifications
- Move parts into staging area and clock out in computer system when parts have been completed.
- Record all lots that are dyed into daily logbook
- Sleeving and packing of parts
- Must able to willing to be mobile equipment certified
- Read, write, understand English, work procedures
- Validating PO and paperwork for accuracy
- Inspect material against orders and specifications for correctness, quantity, type and defects.
- Prepares documentation for shipment of materials, parts, finished goods and related items.
- Able to perform cycle counts
- Receive product from vendors, verify for correctness and input the information into ORACLE. Enter cycle count data into QAD and verify for correctness
