UnityPoint Clinic Maternal Fetal Medicine in Cedar Rapids provides specialized care for pregnant individuals who have high-risk pregnancy and fetal conditions. We also assess patients in pre-conception counseling, as well as provide post-pregnancy debriefing for patients with unexpected outcomes.
Our practice is based upon a co-management model, with the Patient’s OB or Primary care provider. We are very sensitive to the apprehension families have when they are concerned for an unborn child and the person carrying the baby. An important piece of the service we provide is simply being an accessible resource.
- Clinic hours Monday – Friday 8AM to 5PM
- 1.0 FTE full time position
- No Weekends
- No call requirements
- Fully integrated system with clinic and hospitals on Epic EMR
- Position includes both clinic and hospital inpatient consults.
- Provide consultation and medical treatment for full spectrum MFM patients, with an emphasis on diabetes, and can include preterm labor, hypertension, fetal abnormalities, fetal assessment, etc.
- Excellent evaluation, judgement, communication, and collaboration skills
- Collaborating work environment with MFM Physician and all clinic staff
- Provide high quality, respectful, compassionate care to MFM patients and their families.
- Nurse Practitioner or other APP credentials
- Board Certified or eligible
- OB and/or diabetes management experience preferred.
- Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa or be eligible for one.
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice.
