FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Dean of Student Services
Work Days: Full-Time, M-F, School and professional development days*
Wage Range: $44,000-$48,000 annually.

We are looking for a full-time Math Specialist to educate, supervise, and nurture a strong school culture and promote an American Classical Education for all our students. The school needs a skilled math specialist who plays a critical role in maintaining compliance and best practices according to federal and state mandates. This position collaborates closely with the Dean of Grammar School and Headmaster in setting priorities in support of our mission.
Essential Functions:
- Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify students' math levels, strengths, and areas for improvement
- Instructional Planning: Develop and implement individualized math instruction plans based on assessment data, curriculum, and student's needs
- Intervention: Provide targeted intervention and support to students struggling with math skills
- Collaboration: Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and other specialists to support the math needs of all students
- Professional Development: Stay current on research-based best practices in math instruction and participate in professional development opportunities
- Data Analysis: Analyze student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and strategies for support at home
- Resource Management: Manage resources such as books, materials, and technology to support effective math instruction
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Endorsement in mathematics (or passing grade on the math Praxis)
- Previous experience working as a math specialist or math coach is preferred.
- Knowledge of math assessment tools and strategies.
- Commitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools of Colorado
- Knowledge of classical education (or the willingness and desire to learn)
- Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, superior organization, and computer skills
- Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Willingness to perform other related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust one's tone and height by bending or leaning in order to teach each child
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing to teach
- Must be able to supervise outdoor duties.
