Role Summary:

Internship Term: 

 

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and December 2027.

This role is instrumental in supporting Rivian’s next-generation vehicle production by working on critical commodity strategies and high-impact supplier management tasks. The intern will gain hands-on experience in supplier interactions, data analytics, and project management within the supply chain, providing essential support to Global Supply Managers (GSMs) throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Commodity Strategy and Supplier Management: Contribute to commodity strategy development, supplier selection, and management to enhance cost efficiency and performance.
• RFQ Development: Assist in completing supplier Request for Quotations (RFQs) and preparing supplier profiles for management review.
• Data Analytics and Dashboarding: Perform data analysis and create dashboards to ensure visibility and track the project lifecycle, supporting decision-making for GSMs.
• Cost Reduction and Supplier Communication: Interact with suppliers on cost reduction opportunities and support in preparing for quarterly business reviews.
• Buyer Functions and PO Management: Perform buyer-related tasks including creating, updating, modifying, and canceling purchase orders (POs), and expedite materials with suppliers.
• Accounts Payable Resolution: Resolve any Accounts Payable issues related to PO invoice and receipt discrepancies.
• Reporting and Stakeholder Communication: Provide material delivery updates directly to stakeholders and leadership, and support GSMs with presentation and meeting preparation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree minimum; MBA candidates with a focus on Supply Chain Management are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, industry experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Smartsheet, and dashboarding tools.
• Familiarity with SAP, RFQ/RFI/RFP processes, data analytics, and should-cost models.
• Experience in commodity management and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to perform data analysis and create dashboards for enhanced project visibility.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective supplier communication and internal collaboration.

Pay Disclosure:

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. 

 

Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
