Meaningful Day Services Coordinator - Kennedy Krieger Institute

Overview:

The Meaningful Day Services Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative and supervisory duties for CORE Foundations staff supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The incumbent will provide supervision, manage time-off requests, and approve payroll for assigned Community Development Specialists (CDS) on their caseloads. Additionally, this position will collaborate with the Neurodiversity at Work leadership team to ensure the compliance of service delivery and implementation of person-centered plans, to include confirming weekly/monthly billable service hours, person-centered plan review, and ongoing community engagement with local businesses and volunteer sites. The incumbent will provide direct support as needed for individuals in the areas of community development services, employment services, and behavioral support services. This position requires travel in and around the greater Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct supervision and delegation of duties to a caseload of assigned Community Development Specialists. This includes onboarding, training, completion of annual appraisals, and providing meaningful professional development.
2. Collaborate with department timekeepers to complete payroll-related tasks including approving bi-weekly timecards and managing time-off requests.
3. Create and maintain weekly schedules for assigned Community Development Specialists.
4. Assist the Neurodiversity at Work leadership team with the management of day-to-day operations including collaborating with families, managing community member incidents, and providing staff supervision.
5. Assist the Neurodiversity at Work admissions and compliance team with confirming weekly/monthly billable service hours and reviewing person-centered plans.
6. Develop, coordinate, and implement meaningful community services related to employment, volunteer, or behavioral support opportunities.
7. Communicate and collaborate with internal departments/programs, external constituencies, and other stakeholders regarding direct services and the needs of community members.
8. Provide direct services and act as a backup for staff as needed in community development services, employment services, or behavioral support services.
9. Ensure compliance tasks related to community member’s information in Apricot portal is current and reviewed with direct support staff. Information includes approved contacts, scheduled time-off, person-centered plans, and daily activities.
10. Participate in the development and implementation of behavior management strategies in the community. Provide training to Community Development Specialists on interventions, coaching, and support strategies in accordance with the plan, program, and needs of the individual.
11. Attend and participate in all scheduled team meetings and trainings.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

• High School diploma, certificate of completion, or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Human Services, or a related field preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
