MECHANIC - YELLOWSTONE COUNTY

Full-time position, which performs difficult to complex mechanic work for the repair, diagnosis, and maintenance of all County heavy equipment and vehicles; Welding and fabrication in relation to heavy equipment repair; Does related work as required.
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 10-hour shifts, every Friday off.
Examples of Duties:
- Repairs and rebuilds gasoline and diesel engines, air compressors, and portable water pumps.
- Inspects, adjusts, and repairs gasoline and diesel equipment, including engines, diesel systems, and hydraulic pumps.
- Repairs and maintains trenching machines, air compressors, concrete mixers, water pumps, pneumatic tools, and hoses.
- Fits and adjusts bearings, pumps, sprayers, and carburetors.
- Tests, adjusts, and tunes all types of engines, fuel injection systems, fuel or oil supply pumps, and governors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Technology, or related field; and
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an automotive or heavy equipment mechanic; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling vie (5) years.
- Commercial Driver's License Class A II with tanker endorsement minimum issued by the State of Montana.
