Intertek is searching for a Mechanic II, Driveline to join our Transportation Technologyteam in our San Antonio, Texas office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Driveline/ATF!
The Mechanic II, Driveline is responsible for under direct or general supervision, using automotive hand tools and power tools, installs, inspects, tests, repairs, rebuilds and maintains all types of transmissions, axles, and related test stands using work procedures and technical manuals. Assists with troubleshooting test stands and instrumentation malfunctions, makes repairs or corrections as required. May perform specialized duties such as calibration monitoring, test hardware inventory monitoring (stock and non-stock), clutch pack measurements.
What you'll do:
- Rebuilds, installs, inspects, repairs and maintains test articles in prepared test stands.
- Performs test part cleaning and preparation prior to test assembly.
- Removes and disassembles test apparatus at end of test or at intermediate inspection points.
- Assists with training new mechanics.
- Performs troubleshooting on test stands and makes repairs or modifications as needed.
- On a non-routine basis assists with test stand modifications and/or assists with complete test stand preparation.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years' experience as a mechanic.
- Proficiency with Driveline lab tests preferred.
- Ability to navigate in Windows based software.
- Must be available for scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed.
