Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 3:30pm  Mon- Fri

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• You’ll work on heavy equipment that requires a high level of skill: hydraulics, electrical, diagnostics 
• Perform all maintenance and repair activities on High and Heavy Equipment
• Design and fabricate engines according to customer specifications
• Test and measure equipment
• Perform diagnostics, repair, disassemble, and reassemble systems
• Install attachments as required by customer  
• Drive wheeled machines from discharge or parking location to work areas
• Complete required paperwork/programs for the repair or parts installation on all types of equipment and machinery.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Must be AWS certified
• Working knowledge of various mechanical and technical systems, and the physical ability to apply this knowledge in a hands on manner.
• Ability to apply practical knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines and associated systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on various systems for the purpose of disassembly, repair, and reassembly.
• Ability to use various test equipment, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and prints.
• Ability to conduct work responsibilities while exposed to dirt, dust, and fumes from the operation of construction equipment, cranes, forklifts, etc.
• Current valid driver's license. 

EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE:

• AWS certified
• A working knowledge of welding techniques; gas, arc, mig, & tig

The pay or salary range listed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum projected rate of pay for the specific position across our United States locations. Equally as important, as a team member, individual earnings may consider knowledge, skills, abilities, work location and related factors. The current base hourly range for this position is $27.00-$33.00 Wallenius Wilhelmsen team members are also eligible for annual merit-based salary adjustments, and participation in competitive benefit programs. Some roles in the company may offer an additional annual bonus. Additional details on salary or pay ranges and benefits will be available through the interview and employment process. Salary or pay ranges are separate from bonus opportunities and/or benefit plans.
