MECHANICAL CAD ENGINEER
6+ months Contract 40 hours weekly
On Site with HYBRID TBD
Security Clearance: Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. US Citizen ONLY
Client is seeking mechanical CAD professionals who can design fixturing & test equipment and generate and review mechanical system documentation. Client works primarily on U.S. Government-funded programs, and the ideal candidate should have experience with developing technical data packages according to the principles laid out in MIL-STD-31000, including ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning & tolerancing and Product Lifecycle Management. Experience with SolidWorks and/or CREO is a must
Experience with the 3DX Product Lifecycle Management tool is strongly preferred. Candidates will be asked to support a number of projects at any given time and must possess strong organization, planning and time management skills. Candidates must also be able to communicate effectively and openly with multi-disciplinary program team members and program leadership, including non-technical personnel Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: - Experience designing in 3D CAD and producing 2D drawings using SolidWorks and/or CREO - Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000 - Strong understanding of ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning & tolerancing
Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes - Team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Preferred Qualifications: - 2-year degree in a relevant field such as drafting, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering - 2+ years of work experience in a defense contracting environment
