As a mechanical design engineer, you will take Mezzo micro-tube heat exchanger designs from concept to reality in prototype and production environments. You will develop sophisticated products from initial architecture layout to the last detail, then collaborate with Mezzo's talented manufacturing team to bring your designs to life.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed CAD models and engineering prints in SolidWorks
- Maintain design data and work with purchasing to procure components, hardware, and fixturing
- Provide shop-floor technical support for manufacturing builds from prototype to production
- Host design reviews to incorporate technical feedback and receive approval from stakeholders
- Perform engineering hand calculations and analysis to size components
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and methods to maintain a competitive edge
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Prefer 5+ years of experience, but all levels of experience would be considered (compensation commensurate with experience).
- Experience designing mechanical components
- Experience using SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software packages
- Strong aptitude in machine design elements (e.g., fasteners, elastomer seals, welded joints)
- Experience with materials selection for mechanical design
- Working knowledge of high-precision manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability
- Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Excellent technical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with hand tools and basic fabrication equipment
