Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, oversee, and implement project work plans, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and timelines. Manage performance and make key decisions to drive project success.
- Prepare, review, and approve detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation.
- Ensure that engineering designs adhere to industry standards, such as ASME B-31.3 and BPE.
- Optimize layout designs and make critical decisions regarding equipment selection and system integration.
- Lead and facilitate technical discussions between internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
- Coordinate with offshore and onsite design teams to ensure smooth communication and approval processes for drawings and documents.
- Prepare and distribute RFQs (Request for Quotation) for equipment procurement.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, coordinate with suppliers, and oversee the installation of piping and packaging equipment.
- Conduct VAT (Vendor Acceptance Testing) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff and designers.
- Deliver on-the-job training to junior engineers, enhancing their technical skills and project contribution.
- Serve as the main engineering representative during client interactions to resolve technical issues and coordinate work.
- Maintain continuous communication with client representatives, field personnel, and other engineering disciplines to support project progress.
Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and NavisWorks for 2D and 3D design and review.
- Experience using Auto Plant 3D; knowledge of PDS is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of PFDs, TFS, layout planning, and elevation design.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering standards and regulatory requirements in piping design for process industries.
- Familiarity with the design and specification of processing and packaging equipment, including conveyors, case packers, crushers, agitators, and air compressors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects independently and make critical engineering decisions.
- Ability to align with client requirements, company goals, and ensure compliance with OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety) regulations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in piping and packaging design within the FMCG, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.
