System One is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer, Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity with our client based out of Naperville, IL or Atlanta, GA. This role is open to a remote or hybrid work model, with a preference for local candidates open to a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering teams, managing resources and overseeing complex tasks within larger projects.
- Define project scope, allocate staff, and provide technical leadership for execution, design processes, and long-term planning.
- Analyze problems, evaluate performance specifications, and recommend practical design solutions and modifications for components, systems, and processes.
- Provide expert advice on design processes, construction methods, and technical solutions for client needs.
- Collaborate with teams to determine priorities and project implications, ensuring effective coordination.
- Formulate and direct investigations, interpreting data to recommend design modifications and application of results.
- Review and evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems, applying engineering principles to optimize designs.
- Engage clients in technical discussions, defining deliverables, design inputs, and resolving project issues.
- Approve work schedules, recommend resources, and provide guidance on special equipment.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical direction and supporting design development and professional growth.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school.
- 10+ years relevant work experience in commercial nuclear mechanical design and design modification experience.
- 2+ years of direct leadership experience on commercial nuclear engineering projects.
- Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants
- Knowledge and implementation of client Engineering Change Control process of nuclear power generation utilities is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards.
- Good time management skills and demonstrated capability to interface effectively with and gain the trust of station customers.

- Must be able to organize and prioritize assigned work and to coordinate multiple activities efficiently.
