Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Milpitas, CA. This role requires working onsite and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems for various applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mechanical design, prototyping, and CAD software, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design mechanical components and systems based on project requirements.
- Create detailed technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
- Perform simulations and testing to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and durability standards.
- Collaborate with electrical and manufacturing engineers to integrate mechanical designs into larger systems.
- Troubleshoot and modify designs as needed throughout the development process.
- Conduct material selection and analysis for design optimization.
- Prepare and present design reviews and technical documentation.
- Support the prototyping and validation of new designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in mechanical design, with expertise in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in thermal and structural analysis is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
- Knowledge of electronics packaging and system integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance regulations.
Contract Duration: 6-12 months (with potential for extension)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
