Samson Rose has been exclusively engaged by a client that is electrifying industrial thermal energy use to help global enterprises significantly reduce manufacturing costs and onsite emissions. We are helping them hire a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of the next-generation electric heat pumps that will electrify industrial process heat!
This person will lead the design, development, and qualification of the heat pump package and components, primarily the proprietary turbomachinery platform being developed.
A bit about the company:
- Well funded at the Pre-Seed stage; oversubscribed with existing investors putting in more money. Series A is earmarked for early 2025 and has a lot of interest from investors.
- They're combining the latest advancements in hardware technology, industrial manufacturing, and additional proprietary innovations to engineer the first-of-its-kind thermal electric heat pump.
- Their prototype will be running by April 2025.
- They already have traction with some of the largest household brands that are likely to be customers.
- The market and customers they will be serving are already worth multiple billions of dollars to the business.
- Hugely impactful product that will reduce absolute energy demand, improve the efficiency of how industries operate, and reduce 20% of carbon emissions.
The person they are looking for:
- Will be a founding lead engineer and will have the opportunity to grow and lead a team.
- You can choose whether to be a technical leader or department leader - tech and non-tech track.
- Has experience with analytical design, turbomachinery testing, and engine testing
- Experience with manufacturing and design for manufacturability. Can take designs from initial concept to production.
- Can conduct thermal and mechanical design and analytical design calculations.
- Has strong Computed Aided Design (CAD) skills in NX or similar software.
- Has experience in engineering drawings release and best practices (GD&T, ASME Y14.5).
- Has at least 3+ years of experience in the design of hardware
- Is able to use first principles thinking to develop mechanical systems.
- Has experience performing and/or reviewing rotor dynamics analysis.
- Is highly motivated and can work with a wider team of specialists in the various component systems.
- Will ensure that hardware solutions are developed to meet challenging performance goals on an aggressive schedule.
