About the Job
Selectek is seeking a qualified Mechanical Designer for a partnering client near Columbia, South Carolina. Candidates will need a strong design background in larger-scale commercial and institutional projects.
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
Expected Salary Range: $36-$48 per hour depending on experience and background
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Job Requirements:
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience
- Proficiency in Revit design
- Working knowledge of International Building Codes, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards
- Experience designing for Healthcare, Educational, or Government building projects
- Ideal candidates hold an Associate Degree or other post-secondary training certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Design
Job Duties:
- Designing HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems for larger commercial and institutional buildings, primarily in Revit
- Produce finished plans and specifications
- Troubleshoot existing mechanical systems
- Review contractor submittals for compliance with design documents of other systems and construction elements
- Serve as job captain on single discipline projects
- Assign and review the work of the project design team
- Recommend improvements and devise new approaches to problems encountered
